Nonprofit capacity-building workshop set

Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of local community-based and faith-based nonprofits will be the focus of a day-long conference March 29 sponsored by Project Lift, the city of Raleigh's nonprofit capacity-building initiative.

The event, to be held from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center, is designed for nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers.

Participants will be able to attend five workshops during the day on topics that include organizational development; fund development; leadership; collaboration and community development; and financial management.

They also can attend a networking fair from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. that will feature local businesses, universities and consulting firms.

The cost, including lunch, will be $35, and participants much register by March 19.
